Accommodation
Westminster School offers Boarding House and homestay accommodation options for overseas students.
Boarding
At Westminster, we are committed to providing a safe and secure environment for our Boarding students, with caring staff available 24/7, including House mothers and School nurses on duty after school and on weekends. In addition to a variety of comfortable accommodation options, our Boarding precinct features open and vibrant shared spaces to encourage increased interaction between students.
Westminster boarders receive additional study assistance in the evenings, ensuring you have the help you need to succeed in your studies. Beyond academics, it is a wonderful place to make lifelong friends with students from all over Australia and the world, creating a truly global community.
We understand the importance of maintaining connections with your family overseas. Our Boarding staff and International Students Coordinator can communicate with families through multiple platforms, including WeChat, and we have Chinese-speaking staff available to assist with translations for both students and parents.
Homestay
Westminster School offers accredited homestay options for international students. This program provides a wonderful opportunity for overseas students to experience the Australian way of life within a welcoming family environment.
Living with a host family offers students a warm and welcoming environment where they can truly immerse themselves in the local culture. It is a wonderful way to improve English language skills and create lasting friendships.
Enrolment Process
Application Submission
To begin your application, overseas students need to provide the following:
- A completed Application Form and application fee
- Copies of the student’s most recent school reports
- Copies of AEAS test results
- A copy of the student’s birth certificate, passport, and visa (if granted)
Application Review
Westminster School will carefully review the application and assessment procedures, including evaluating reports from previous schools and English language proficiency. After considering all records and any additional information, the International Students Manager will arrange an interview with the student applicant. The School Principal will make the final decision regarding the acceptance of overseas students.
Letter of Offer
If enrolment is approved and a place is available, a Letter of Offer will be sent. This letter includes the Terms and Conditions of Enrolment, an invoice for the first semester of tuition and boarding fees, and an indicative fee statement.
Confirmation of Enrolment
Once we receive the required documents, signed by both guardians/carers, along with the associated fees, we will issue an electronic Confirmation of Enrolment Certificate (eCoE). This certificate is essential for the Student Visa application.
Student Visa Application
With your electronic Confirmation of Enrolment Certificate (eCoE), you can apply for a Student Visa. Visit the appropriate Australian Immigration Office for detailed information about the Student Visa Subclass 500, including application forms and instructions on how to apply. The Department of Home Affairs website will guide you through the process and ensure you have everything you need for a successful application.
Travel Arrangements
Once your student visa has been approved, you can start making travel arrangements to come to Adelaide. Please inform us of your travel plans so we can prepare for your arrival and ensure a smooth transition to Westminster School.
International Student Fees
We understand that school fees can be a significant part of your family budget, and we strive to keep them as affordable as possible.
For students who are Australian citizens or have Residency status, the fees are the same as those for domestic students.
