We are delighted to invite applications for Academic scholarships for 2026 entry. Students should be performing at a base level of an A or A+ in Maths and English to be considered competitive amongst other high performing candidates. The academic test aims to assess complex intellectual abilities, problem solving and logical understanding.
Applications are submitted externally via ACER Scholarships. Please select Westminster School as your first preference if you wish to sit the test on our campus.
The deadline for applications is 16 January 2025, with the test scheduled for Saturday, 1 February 2025.

Please note, whist we reserve places for successful scholarship recipients; due to current waitlists, we cannot hold places for unsuccessful applicants who still wish to be considered for admission to Westminster School. Outside of the Scholarship program, a successful application requires a formal letter of offer to confirm a place.
Academic Scholarships (ACER)
Selway (Year 7 entry – academic high performer)
The Brad Selway Memorial Scholarship is one of the most prestigious academic awards at Westminster School. It offers full tuition remission to a student entering Year 7, based on their performance in the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) Australian Cooperative Entry Program (ACEP) examination. This exam is open to both current Westminster School students and prospective students wishing to join the school.
The scholarship is named in honour of the late Hon. Brad (Bradley) Selway, an Old Scholar from the Class of 1971. Brad joined Westminster in 1967 as a Year 8 student on an academic scholarship. He had a distinguished career in law and was an active member of the school community, serving on both the School Council and the Westminster School Foundation Board.
Application process: Online submission via ACER website. Candidates are ranked on the basis of the academic testing.
Benefit: 100% remission of tuition fees per annum from Year 7 until the end of Year 12.
Fenner (Year 7 entry – academic high performer)
The Bradley Fenner Scholarship is a prestigious Academic Excellence award. It offers a 50% tuition remission to a student entering Year 7, based on their performance in the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) Australian Cooperative Entry Program (ACEP) examination. This exam is open to both current Westminster School students and prospective students wishing to join the school.
The scholarship is named in honour of Bradley Fenner, who served as Principal of Westminster School from 1998 to 2009.

General Excellence, Community and Boarding Scholarships
Applications for our General Excellence, Community, and Boarding Scholarships for 2026 entry are open from Monday 14 October 2024. We warmly invite all eligible and passionate students to apply.
Updated entry criteria and timelines will be available on our website from the start of Term 4. We invite applications from students who excel academically and have demonstrated outstanding achievements in one or more of the following areas: sports, performing arts, leadership, community involvement, and service.

After a thorough review of all written submissions, shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview during February 2025. Successful candidates will be advised in March. Please note that due to tight timeframes, no late applications will be considered.

Boarding scholarships are offered to well-rounded students from rural or regional Australia, who excel academically and achieve outstanding results in areas such as sport, performing arts, leadership and community service. Community scholarships are awarded to well-rounded students who shine with outstanding personal qualities and have made meaningful contributions to their school and local community. In 2026, the Westminster Old Scholar Association (WOSA) Scholarship and Refugee Scholarship will be offered in this category. We ask that all submissions are written by the student and include their latest school report with teacher comments, as well as one personal reference.
After a thorough review of all written submissions, shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview throughout February and March 2025. Successful candidates will be advised by April. Please note that due to tight timeframes, no late applications will be considered.

Boomsma
The Clifford Boomsma Boarding Scholarship is awarded each year to a new Boarding student entering Westminster from Years 7 to 10. The recipient will display all-round excellence in academic and co-curricular pursuits including sport, performing arts, service and leadership. We ask that all submissions are written by the student and include their latest school report with teacher comments, as well as one personal reference.

Benefit: 50% remission of the Boarding fees (excluding tuition) per annum until the end of Year 12.
Year 6 All-Rounder
Available to new students entering our School in Year 6 in 2026, the successful recipient must be able to demonstrate all-round excellence in academic and co-curricular pursuits, including sport, performing arts, service and leadership. We ask that all submissions are written by the student and include their latest school report with teacher comments, as well as one personal reference.
Application: Online submission and interview for short-listed candidates.
Benefit: 30% of tuition fees per annum from Year 6 until the end of Year 12.
Year 7 All-Rounder
Available to new students entering Year 7. Recipients will display all-round excellence in academic and co-curricular pursuits, including sport, performing arts, service and leadership. We ask that all submissions are written by the student and include their latest school report with teacher comments, as well as one personal reference.

Croser Fraser All-Rounder (Year 7 to Year 11 Entry)
The Croser Fraser All-Rounder Scholarship is available to a new student enrolling in Year 7 to Year 11 in 2026. The recipients will display all-round excellence in academic and co-curricular pursuits, including sport, performing arts, service and leadership. We ask that all submissions are written by the student and include their latest school report with teacher comments, as well as one personal reference.

Fricker
Awarded annually to a new or existing student entering Year 7. Applicants must be able to demonstrate a willingness and capacity to make a significant contribution to Performing Arts in one or more of the following disciplines: Music or Dance. We ask that all submissions are written by the student and include their latest school report with teacher comments, as well as one personal reference.
A condition of the Fricker Performing Arts Scholarship is the recipient’s enrolment in one or more of the following disciplines: Music or Dance from Years 7 to 12 and regular involvement in the Performing Arts co-curricular program.
Assessment: Online submission and audition for shortlisted candidates.
Benefit: 50% remission of tuition fees per annum from Years 7 to 12.
WOSA Scholarship
The Westminster Old Scholars’ Association (WOSA) Scholarship is available to a new or existing student entering Year 10 in 2026, who is the child or grandchild of a Westminster Old Scholar. The recipient will possess outstanding personal qualities and abilities in both the academic and co-curricular areas, as well as demonstrate an active participation in community service. Only one sibling from a qualifying family can benefit from this scholarship. We ask that all submissions are written by the student and include their latest school report with teacher comments, as well as one personal reference.

Benefit: 30% remission of tuition fees per annum for Years 10 to 12.
Refugee
The Refugee Scholarship is available to a new student commencing from Year 7 to Year 11, who meets the Australian Bureau of Statistics definition of a refugee, that is, a person who has been subject to persecution in their home country and needs resettlement. Meeting this definition and considering family need, the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate academic ability, co-curricular ability and good character. We ask that all submissions are written by the student and include their latest school report with teacher comments, as well as one personal reference.
Assessment: Online submission, means testing and interview for shortlisted candidates.
Benefit: Remissions on tuition fees per annum are awarded based on the individual candidate’s financial situation and need.
