All School Footy Colours Casuals Day
To celebrate AFL Gather Round, next Thursday, 10 April will be a Footy Colours Casuals Day. Students across the entire School are encouraged to wear the colours of their favourite football team while still ensuring they are dressed appropriately to take part in their normal lessons throughout the day.
This themed Casual Day offers a fun opportunity to show team spirit, while continuing to observe the expectations that guide all Casual Days at Westminster.
Guidelines for Casual Days at Westminster
While students are not required to wear School uniform on Casual Days, it remains a normal School Day in all other respects. Accordingly, the way students present themselves should still reflect the values of Westminster. Clothing must be neat and comfortable, with coverage equivalent to that provided by the School uniform.
To support consistency and clarity, the following guidelines apply:
- Footwear must be safe and appropriate for School activities. Styles such as thongs, Crocs, Birkenstocks and Ugg boots are not permitted
- Jewellery must not be visible
- Hair must comply with normal School regulations
- Clothing messages and logos must be appropriate. Any offensive or unsuitable content may result in disciplinary action
These guidelines are designed to ensure that all students feel comfortable, respected and safe, while still enjoying the spirit of a Casual Day.
Westminster appreciates the support of families in upholding these expectations.
New Gluten Free Options at the Canteen
Westminster’s Preparatory Canteen has expanded its range of gluten free offerings, with 16 gluten free items now available, making it easier for students to enjoy a diverse selection of meals throughout the week.
These gluten free items join the much-loved homemade creamy pasta salad, which can now be found in the Light Meals section of the QKR app.
Families are encouraged to explore the new menu offerings and plan ahead to take advantage of the full range of options now available.
Daily Specials – Term 1 Line-Up
In addition to these new gluten free choices, the Canteen continues to serve its popular daily specials. While these are subject to change next term, this term’s line-up includes:
Monday: Hot Dog
Tuesday: Butter Chicken
Wednesday: Italian Meatballs
Thursday: Bacon, Egg & Hash Brown English Muffin
Friday: Chicken Sliders
Ordering Reminders
All orders must be submitted via the QKR app before 9.30 am on the day to ensure they are prepared and ready for collection.
Lost Property Treasures Await
As the end of term draws near, our Lost Property cupboard is brimming. While our team works diligently throughout the term to return labelled items, there are still many belongings yet to find their way home.
In the lead-up to the holidays, we’ve displayed all remaining items on a trestle table in the courtyard outside the Prep Office. From now until the end of term, students and families are encouraged to take a moment to check for any missing belongings.
There’s quite the collection - hats, sports jackets, blazers, shoes, socks and an impressive array of lunch containers and drink bottles. Please encourage your child to have a look or feel free to visit yourself.
Let’s finish the term with as many items reunited as possible.

Summer Co-Curricular Concludes
The final cricket matches on Friday 4 April marked the completion of our Summer Co-Curricular program.
Planning for the Year 2–6 Winter Co-Curricular program is well underway, with team placements being finalised and fixtures nearly ready. Look out for further details in late Week 11 of Term 1 or early in Week 1 of Term 2.
Year 1 Co-Curricular nominations will be available soon, with students able to choose from Football, Netball, Soccer, and Basketball. They will select two sports and participate in four-week rotations on Tuesday afternoons, following the same structure as Term 1.
Year 5/6 Green Mixed Basketball Team
This term, the Year 5/6 Green Mixed Basketball Team has made great strides, not only in individual skills but also in teamwork and collaboration on the court. Each student brings a unique strength to the game, and it has been fantastic to see their communication and support for one another grow during both training and matches.
A special thank you to Caite Buckley for her expert coaching and guidance throughout the season. While the team didn’t get to play this week due to a forfeit, they are eager to return in Term 4. With some extra winter training, they will be ready to continue their development and progress.
