Co-Curricular Sport Commences Term 1
We’re excited to begin Term 1 Summer Sport at Westminster, with training for all teams starting in Week 2 alongside matches and competitions.
Last year marked a significant step forward for Co-Curricular Sport at Westminster, as we introduced a renewed vision and a range of new initiatives to strengthen our program. This vision continues to guide how we approach Sport, shaping the values and goals we strive to achieve with every team and student.
Our vision is to:
Provide a positive Sports Performance Program that empowers students — from participation through to high performance — equipping them with essential life skills and fostering a lifelong connection to Westminster School.
Our key objectives are for students to:
- Value commitment to their team
- Give maximum effort in practice and competition
- Have opportunities to develop towards higher performance
- Celebrate defining experiences and successes
- Demonstrate humility
Building on last year’s progress, we will continue to implement new initiatives throughout 2025. A highlight from the holidays is the appointment of Andrew Schacht as our new Coordinator of Volleyball for both the Senior and Prep Schools. Andrew, a two-time Olympian in Beach Volleyball, brings extensive experience as an elite coach and is currently the Head Coach of the SASI Beach Volleyball program.
As always, we welcome feedback from families. Please feel free to reach out at SSchwerdt@westminster.sa.edu.au or have a chat when you see me on the court or oval during weekend sport.
