Westminster Weekly - Edition 9
Senior School
Athletics Carnival Week
Our annual Athletics Week begins next week, running from Tuesday 25 to Friday 28 March.
This is a fantastic opportunity for students to showcase their athletic abilities, demonstrate resilience and determination and celebrate sportsmanship and House pride.
We encourage all students to embrace the spirit of the event, whether competing or supporting their peers, and warmly invite parents to join us throughout the weeklong celebration.
Dress Code
On Thursday 27 March, all Years 7 to 12 students can wear their PE attire to and from School. Thursday afternoon is the beginning of the Senior School Athletics Carnival and we want to make it easy for students to participate.
On Friday 28 March, all students can wear their House colours (House top) with PE attire to School for the full day Athletics Carnival. Year 12 students only are allowed to attend in costume. All students need appropriate shoes for running and competing in a fun day of events.

Support Tanzeed – A Walk With Purpose
For the past three years, the Westminster community has supported the development of a school in Tanzania through Tanzeed, an initiative founded by Geography teacher Adam Burford to provide local children with access to education.
On Friday 4 April, our Year 11 and 12 students will once again take part in The Walk to Westminster, a 14-kilometre walk to raise awareness and funds for this important cause.

Locker Locks Mandatory for Students Years 7 to 12
All Senior School students are required to have a lock on their School locker (whether inside and outside) by Friday 28 March (end of Week 9). Locks are a security measure and are needed to avoid contents falling/blowing out.
If a lock needs to be purchased:
- There’s a choice of a new-styled combination lock for $45 (using EFTPOS through the Senior School Office or from the Uniform Shop through Qkr or over counter) or the older-styled combination dial lock for $20 (Uniform Shop only through Qkr or over counter) while stocks last.
- Senior School Office holds master keys for both styles should override access be needed.
- A looked-after lock should last the secondary years, particularly the new-styled lock with its more robust design.
- Students who do not have an appropriate lock on their locker by the deadline will be required to complete community service until their locker is properly secured.
Senior School students with a working lock (combination dial) from last year should already have this on their locker.
Summer Intercol Program
In 2025, our teams will once again showcase their skill, determination and sportsmanship as they compete across a range of summer sports. Beyond the competition, Summer Intercol is an opportunity to build camaraderie, create memories and uphold the strong traditions that define our School community.
We look forward to seeing our students give their all, proudly wearing green and white. For full event details, including the program of events, please visit the link below.
Weekly Sports Wrap
Drive Tennis
One Westminster team that has quietly gone about its season this Term is the Drive Tennis team. Comprised of the School’s top six tennis players, the team remains undefeated heading into the competition semi-finals this weekend against Marryatville High, a well-respected force in school tennis.
Under the guidance of Mr David Tiller, who has a long-standing association with Drive Tennis, the team will also compete in next week’s Summer Intercol against Pembroke, looking to retain the trophy won last year. Best wishes to Mr Tiller and the team for an exciting few weeks ahead.
