Our Instructors

At WestSwim we believe in fostering a sense of curiosity, even in our teaching staff! We believe that education is truly a life-long pursuit and that's why we choose to continually invest, develop and grow our team. Each of our WestSwim instructors are qualified as a nationally recognised Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety. Many of our instructors have also achieved additional levels of certification in competitive strokes, foundation coaching, adult learn to swim, access and inclusion as well as specialised infant and toddler training. In addition to certification, our in-house professional development program welcomes industry professionals throughout the year who deliver customised on-site training to assist our team in creating a pool of resources to inspire and develop their knowledge base.

Westminster Boarding Student Initiative

In 2023 WestSwim initiated a program, within our boarding student cohort, to recruit, train and certify a select group of passionate individuals as swimming instructors. The 10 students who completed the program in collaboration with Austswim now sit as valued members of the WestSwim team. WestSwim are proud to have facilitated the development of these aquatic professionals who now have the capacity to deliver a life-saving skillset within their own regional and remote community pool programs each time they travel home.

The program has paved the way for several further Westminster day and boarding students who are currently completing training as swim instructors.
