About the Head of Boys' Boarding

Are you an engaging, compassionate and experienced professional skilled in providing effective pastoral care to girl boarders in years 7-12.  We are seeking a can-do person who has a thorough understanding of adolescents and the ability to develop effective relationships with students, parents and staff.  Your passion to provide the best residential care for our students will be evident and is essential to the role.

This position will include a partial teaching load.
 

Key Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Working closely with Director of Boarding to achieve the best outcomes for boarding students.
  • Take oversight of, and responsibility for, general wellbeing, behaviour, discipline, and morale of boy boarders.
  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day facility management and general state and appearance of the Boys' Boarding House.
  • Lead and manage the boys' boarding house staff including the roster management.
  • Foster strong relationships with Boarder parents and communities, communicating with individual parents regarding the needs of their children.
  • Ensure boarding house compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g. WHS).
  • Undertake a teaching load of up to 0.4 FTE within the Senior School.

You will demonstrate natural ability to deliver pastoral care to adolescent boys, be an excellent communicator, patient, nurturing and compassionate, a team leader who inspires others to learn and grow. Previous experience in a leadership role, especially in a boarding environment, will be highly regarded. Teaching qualifications essential.

Senior School Student Diversity Teacher

We are seeking a professional and exemplary teacher with demonstrated expertise in supporting diverse learners to join our Senior School STRETCH team.

This role focuses on working with students who present with a range of abilities, learning profiles, and additional needs. Working collaboratively with school leaders and classroom teachers, you will analyse student learning data and deliver targeted, explicit instruction to support student growth, engagement, and achievement.

Position Objective

As a Teacher, you share responsibility for the quality of teaching and learning, assessment, and reporting. You will demonstrate contemporary pedagogical practice, maintain high standards of preparation and professionalism, and work at least at the Proficient career stage while striving towards HALT descriptors.

Key Selection Criteria – Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in education
• Demonstrated experience supporting students with diverse learning needs
• Strong knowledge of evidence-based teaching strategies
• Ability to analyse and interpret student data
• High level ICT capability and meaningful classroom integration

Preparatory School Teacher - Digital Technologies

Fixed term, 0.8 FTE part-time position – Commencing 20 April 2026 for Term 2 to cover for a permanent staff member on leave.

We are seeking a suitability qualified and motivated Digital Technologies (IT) Teacher to join our team in our Prep School Team for Term 2, teaching primary students. You will be an enthusiastic, resilient and optimistic educator with a high level of organisational ability.  You have a flexible approach, able to prioritise and manage multiple demands in a fast-paced environment.  High level communication skills well developed interpersonal skills and the ability to successfully work independently, and collaboratively as part of a team will see you succeed in this short-term role.

Teachers' Key Responsibilities include: 

  • Plan for and implement effective teaching and learning
  • Plan and organise content into coherent, well-sequenced learning and teaching programs in line with the Australian Curriculum and Faculty curriculum documentation
  • Provide feedback and professional support to improve individual student learning outcomes
  • Develop, apply and record a range of assessment strategies that provide informed and timely feedback to students

Key Selection Criteria: Qualifications, Skills and Experience include:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (Registered Teacher).
  • Experience teaching Digital Technologies to primary school students
  • Knowledge of current trends and practices of Digital Technologies Pedagogy

Senior School Teacher - Chinese Language (Mandarin)

Fixed term part-time 0.6 FTE for Term 2, 2026, to backfill a permanent employee on leave.

We are seeking a suitably qualified and passionate teacher to join our Languages team on a temporary basis to work across the Senior School from Years 7 to 9 teaching Mandarin. You will be expected to maintain the highest standards of preparation for teaching and learning, student management, personal presentation and punctuality. Your collegial and collaborative nature will be evident in ensuring the best possible outcomes for our students. To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate an ability and willingness to:

  • Plan for and implement effective teaching and learning

Design and Technology Assistant

Westminster School is seeking a proactive and organised Design & Technology Assistant to support our Senior School Design and Technologies faculty. This hands‑on role helps maintain our Makerspace and Fabrication Labs, ensuring equipment, materials and learning spaces are ready for innovative student projects.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and set up materials for lessons and student projects.
  • Support post‑processing tasks including 3D printing, laser cutting and CNC milling.
  • Manage stock, equipment, software licences and workshop resources.
  • Maintain safe, tidy and compliant learning environments.
  • Assist with displays, exhibitions and faculty events.

About You

  • Experience in a similar role or relevant design/technology field.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM, Adobe CC and general workshop tools.
  • Understanding of WHS requirements and safe handling of materials.
  • Positive, collaborative and enthusiastic approach to supporting staff and students.

We are seeking three experienced Learning Support Assistants to provide in-class assistance in the Preparatory School for students with specific special learning needs. You will support classroom Teachers to establish an effective learning environment and to provide adjustments to learning materials to support all students in their learning experience.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience working with students who have additional learning needs.
  • Knowledge and experience of using 'Key Word Sign' and the positive reinforcement 'Marte Meo' method (highly desirable).
  • Certificate III in Education Support (as minimum or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated success in providing student support
  • Creative and demonstrates initiative
  • Excellent ICT skills in the classroom and for administrative tasks
  • Sound administrative skills
  • Current certification in Provide First Aid
  • Awareness of the Privacy Act.
  • Initiative and the capacity for self-direction, while at the same time contributing to the output of the larger team.
  • A positive, enthusiastic team member with superior organisational skills, the ability to set goals and prioritise work, and the capacity to manage multiple, simultaneous tasks.
  • An open and friendly disposition and a sense of humour.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to students and parents from a range of age groups, experiences, cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
