A hub for belonging and beyond
Our spacious campus is the beating heart of our community; a place to come together, where values are fostered, shared and lived. Our community promotes diversity, inclusivity and is adventurous in its approach in all that we do. Our community groups are at the heart of what makes Westminster such a welcoming and vibrant home for students and families.
The groups at the heart of our community
Our community groups work closely with our School to make Westminster a welcoming and vibrant home for students and families.
Friends of Westminster
Friends of Westminster (FoW) is the umbrella committee for all community groups, bringing together key members of each one at the start of every term to discuss and plan events, set budgets, and make decisions about allocating funds raised throughout the year. Meetings are open to all and are held in different locations around our School, providing an excellent opportunity to meet other members of the Westminster community and perhaps consider how you could be further involved.
If you would like to be involved, you can simply add your name to the volunteer list. Each term, we email our volunteers about the events for which we would welcome help. If you can assist, whether it is regularly, once off, or at an annual event, we will always be greatly appreciative of your generous involvement.
For more information about our Community Groups, or to register as a valued volunteer, please email us.
Parents' and Friends Club
This group is open to all, including mothers, fathers, friends, and grandparents. They are the ‘welcome to all events’ group that supports all School events during daytime hours, such as the Mother’s Day Stall, Father’s Day Breakfasts and Sports Days, just to name a few.
Friends of Music
This busy group is instrumental in supporting the concerts and activities of Music. The Friends of Music (FoM) regularly run refreshment and ticket sales at School performances and have helped raise funds towards Music tours and new equipment for use by our Music Department. Support groups also come together for Dance and Drama performances.
WAVE
Westminster Aged Vocal Ensemble is a choir for people who love to sing, regardless of their technical ability to do so. An offshoot of the ‘hibernating’ Westminster Aged Repertory Theatrical Society (WARTS), WAVE also performs at events on and off campus.
Boarder Parents' Association
A strong connection between boarding and day families is important. Our Boarder Parents’ Association provides opportunities to meet during the year to support the needs of students living away from home.
Involving boarding students in family activities with non-boarding friends helps to alleviate the feelings of missing their own families. Meetings at Westminster and social trips, including our Boarder Parents' Weekend, are held throughout the year.
Foundation
The Westminster School Foundation is a charitable organisation established in 1987 to encourage philanthropy, coordinate fundraising, and manage investments to support our School. The Foundation has three funds reflecting main areas of interest:
- Education Fund, in support of Scholarships
- Building Fund, in support of School building programs
- Library Fund, for library learning resources
We invite and encourage Old Scholars, current families, and other members of the Westminster community to support and advance our programs for the benefit of our students.

WOSA
The Westminster Old Scholars' Association manages a program of activities and reunions for Westminster Old Scholars. Our Old Scholars are very active in affiliated sporting clubs and in the overall life of our School.
