Our buildings are more than just walls…
Chapter One of our current Campus Masterplan (completed in 2022) was the most significant investment in learning undertaken by Westminster since our opening in 1961. While we can proudly tick the projects that have formed this exceptional transformation, like every building on our spacious campus, it’s what happens inside that really counts.
We’re constantly discovering effective ways of adapting our infrastructure for teaching and learning to meet the needs of an ever-changing world. Chapter Two of our Campus Masterplan is underway to ensure that we adapt and plan for the future.
As we have done since that first school day in 1961, we’re continually building and renewing Westminster for young minds to grow and be the very best they can be under the guidance of dedicated teaching staff.
We invite you to join us for a tour to see what Westminster can offer your family. We’ll proudly show you our new world-class buildings and even more proudly, how young minds are being built inside them to achieve more than they ever thought possible.
Michael Murray Centre for Performing Arts
The Michael Murray Centre for Performing Arts, opened in 1988, provides extensive facilities for music, drama, workshops, seminars, and associated events. It contains a concert hall that seats up to 800, and a theatre with seating for up to 200 – both of which can be combined into one venue.
The new Worthley Foyer provides an extended entrance and function space for the Murray Centre. Additionally, we have recently upgraded the venue's sound and lighting to ensure it remains one of the best facilities of this type in South Australia.
Forder Centre
Built to complement our Styles Centre for Inquiry and Innovation, the Forder Centre forms the heart of our cultural precinct. It offers three levels for students and staff to collaborate and is home to our large dining hall, community Dragon Café, Martin Library and first-class music and drama studios, linked to our renowned 1,000-seat Murray Centre. The views alone are a showcase in themselves, stretching over a sea of playing fields, facilities for sport, swimming and dance, our on-campus Sturt Grove Farm and central Westminster Green.
Styles Centre for Inquiry & Innovation
This new three-storey building within our STEAM precinct offers a host of specialised and practical learning opportunities in engineering, architecture, food technology, fashion, materials, design, IT and science.
Facilities within the Centre are designed to grow students' real-world skills with technology, robotics and engineering equipment, 10 dedicated science labs, a 183 sqm full commercial kitchen, seven design labs fitted with computers and a 3D printer, as well as a fashion design space complete with industrial sewing machines.
With space to design, build, create and collaborate, the Styles Centre for Inquiry and Innovation incorporates flexible learning areas, breakout zones and cutting-edge facilities that give students the tools they need to achieve more than they thought possible. Additionally, it holds 21 classrooms, all equipped to offer personalised solutions that suit the needs of individual students and the methodologies of different teachers. This facility sits adjacent to our newly refurbished Carter Studios, a new home for Creative and Visual Arts, as well as our media studios and editing suite for film, radio and digital projects.
Thomas Pavilion
Sport has long been considered integral to the development, wellbeing, learning and success of students, and with more than 140 teams across 25 different sports, we are proud to offer a wide range of opportunities for students to be involved in the sporting community. Westminster School currently has three football ovals, four soccer pitches, 10 tennis courts, 12 netball courts, four turf cricket pitches and four volleyball courts. The Thomas Pavilion forms an important part of the incredible sporting programs on offer.
Visitors are welcomed into our Sporting Hall of Fame, which leads through to a new purpose-built home for the Golden Keys Training Centre. Four large changerooms sit at the centre of the building and an energy-filled players' race takes athletes onto the main oval. The upper level features a multi-purpose learning space that doubles as a function venue and provides unobstructed views of our playing fields. Two-tiered seating stands also allow teammates, staff, families and our School community to sit outside and show their support.
Sports and Swimming Centre
Our Sports and Swimming Centre is home to a 10-lane, 25-metre, indoor heated pool as well as a second learners’ pool. The indoor stadium boasts two multi-functional basketball or netball courts, and three volleyball courts or eight badminton courts. It also features a large viewing area above the courts, a climbing wall, changerooms and the David Jarman Room dance studio.

Sturt Grove Farm
Set over 4.5 hectares, Sturt Grove Farm has been an integral feature of Westminster life and the campus since 1972. Currently the farm is undergoing a redevelopment which is set to open mid 2024.
Westminster School has gained an enviable reputation for its outstanding Agricultural Studies, and many South Australian farmers and agricultural leaders laid the foundations for their subsequent agricultural careers at Westminster School.
